Pillow Thoughts” was conceived in part from an exhibition entitled, “Cup Thoughts” by Nicola Atkinson Does Fly (NADFLY).  78 white flannel pillows were on wall display in the NADFLY “Fika Shop” at the Los Angeles Municipal Gallery at Barnsdall Park. NADFLY has graciously gifted these pillows to us in the hopes that we will re-interpret these pillows in a participatory art project much like her “101 Cup Thoughts” event.

As one of the 78 artists that have adopted a pillow, you are to re-fashion these pillows in some way. Examples might be to embroider, re-stuff or paint them to re-fashion them in any way the artist is so inspired. Anything goes!  For those less crafty, you may choose to record the daily life of your pillow photographically whether it be while taking your pillow on your travels and recording it’s stay in various locales or simply it’s new life as your pet’s chew toy or bed. Again, anything goes…use your imagination and creativity.
